The new year should always bring bigger and better things to your life... Bill and I are making changes to our antique business which we are excited to announce today...
The first, obviously, is this new blog. We want to help inspire others to look at their old items and wonder if they too can be upcycled. There is only so much planet to put discarded waste into... and things truly aren't made today like they used to be made. As we take these old quality pieces with good bones and Bill upcycles them, I'll chronicle the changes here for you.
If you're just finding us for the first time here, let me give you a quick bio... Bill (Mudgie) grew up in Richmond, VA. He and his mom worked in a frame shop when he was young. When he became older they purchased the shop and owned it for 20 years until her (way to early) death. During this time he learned how to restore and build frames. From his mom he also learned about the love and respect of old wood pieces and other unique items. Bill is amazing with his hands. Hand him an old light and tell him what you think it could be... and three hours later it's a beautifully re-purposed piece.
Heather grew up in San Francisco, CA. Her mom and step father are historians. From the late 80s on she and her mother spent hours weekly antiquing. By the time Heather moved to GA she was deep into collecting old china and crystal... She frequently says she was born in the wrong era as she loves everything from 1880-1930. She was a dealer from 2002 until 2008, when she began working full time. She's thrilled to be able to return to what she loves again.

Together we believe in mixing in old history with new pieces. You'll never see the current trend (50s cherry's, 80s roosters, 90s monkeys in palm trees, and 2000's poppies...) in their home or booth. Our vision is about recycling what was in gramma's home, and finding a purpose for it today.
Now the second piece of news today... is the beginning of a new Instagram account. We'll be posting pictures of all things vintagy and fabulous there. You can find us @junkingwiththecrows (As the Crows Fly was taken sadly... but this tag fits too)...
Saving the BEST bit of news for last... drum roll please... we are beyond thrilled to announce that we are moving our business closer to home. We're returning to Heather's roots in the Georgia antique world. As of March 1, 2017, we'll be at the Queen of Hearts at 670 N Main St, Alpharetta, GA 30009. We love the Andersons and they are welcoming us back with big loving open arms. They and their vendors have created a world of vintage beauty and we are so happy and honored to be back with them. We're going big there... our garage and living room is full of items for Bill to work on... Stay tuned as we chronicle this new adventure!
